AUGUST 30th PICNIC & BACKGAMMON TOURNAMENT

We had a picnic at Breckinridge Park on August 30 as part of our Victory Day celebrations. The picnic began at 4:00 PM due to Ramadan and went on until 9:00 PM.

We also hold the first round of the backgammon tournament during our picnic. The winner of the tournament will earn an international round-trip airplane ticket! Click here to see the photos!

TURANT in the 28th Turkish Day Parade

The 28th Annual Turkish Day Parade, organized by  Federation of Turkish American Associations, was held on Saturday, May 23rd, 2009. The parade started at 12pm from Madison Avenue and ended in Dag Hammerskjolg Park. TURANT proudly represented North Texas Turkish community in this great event.  

March 23, 2009 - Professor Türkkaya Ataöv Lecture Series, "How to Come to Terms with One's Past"

Türkkaya Ataöv is Professor Emeritus in International Relations at Ankara University, Turkey. He is the author of close to 140 books (most of which have been in foreign languages and printed in Europe or in the Americas), a few hundred academic treaties, and a few thousand newspaper articles. Professor Ataöv published 80 books or booklets on the Armenian issue, was invited (as "witness of authority") by the Paris court to the two (1984 & 1985) trials of Armenian terrorists, participated in the UN (1985) Geneva meetings of the Human Rights Commission on the Genocide Convention, and partook in several meetings of the European Parliament that dealt with the Armenian issue.
